摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely diagnose a battery status by providing a battery status diagnostic device for diagnosing the battery status to power a plurality of electric control systems installed to a vehicle with energization means for applying a predetermined energization to a certain electric control system among a plurality of electric control systems after a predetermined period has elapsed from turning-off of an ignition switch, energization volume detection means for detecting a current volume flowing in the certain electric control system, voltage variation detecting means for detecting a voltage variation status of the battery at the time of the energization action by the energization means, and battery status diagnostic means for diagnosing the battery status based on the detected energization volume and the voltage variation status of the battery. <P>SOLUTION: Electric motors 15 of an electric power steering device 1 are gradually energized after a predetermined period has elapsed from a turning-off operation of an ignition switch 80. A deterioration status of the battery 60 is diagnosed on the basis of the energization volume and the detected battery voltage varied accordingly, and an upper limit value of an assist current is decided on the basis of the diagnosed results.
