<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a layout control method and its device for recognizing a margin from the information on a layout result, and for operating the layout of a new rectangle in the margin again for validly using the margin. <P>SOLUTION: This layout control method is provided to perform the layout of content data to be arranged in a layout region on a page according to the size of a rectangular region in which the content data are stored, wherein the layout region where the layout of the content data have been operated is integrated into grids like vertical and horizontal grids, and grids excluding the grids including the layout region are defined as a margin, and weight zero is distributed to the grids including the layout region, and a voluntary weight value showing the directivity of layout is distributed to the grids of the margin part so that a weighted template can be generated, and the rectangular information showing the rectangular region whose layout is performed on the margin part is acquired, and the arrangement position of the rectangular region is determined based on the weighted template. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
