PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power line carrier communication apparatus which allows communication even if guard interval is removed and can provide sufficient attenuation in a band used by existing system without using a band rejection filter. SOLUTION: A transmitting part 101 has a signal-point mapper 102 for mapping a plurality of bit strings generated from the transmitted data into signal-point for each sub-carrier, an inverse wavelet transform 103 for performing modulation of each sub-carrier with mutually-orthogonal wavelet wave patterns to generate time waveform series data, and a D/A converter 104 for analog-converting the time waveform series data. A receiving part 111 has an A/D converter 114 for obtaining sampling series waveform data from power line communication signals, a wavelet transform 115 for transforming the sampling series waveform data into the signal-point data for the each sub-carrier, and a symbol detector 116 for detecting the bit strings mapped by the signal-point mapper 102 by inverse mapping a plurality of the signal-point data to merge as an incoming data series.
