PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To propose a technique for a separation controller designed to provide a further reduction in a loss of third grade yield by suitably regulating the air flow rate of a winnower fan in timing most effective for the reduction in the loss of the third grade yield. SOLUTION: The separation controller of a head-feeding combine harvester is equipped with a first shutter 60 for changing an opening area of an opening 50 on the side of a fan case of the winnower fan 45 and a means for turning on and off the driving of a feed chain. In the separation controller, opening and closing operation of the first shutter 60 is interlocked with the turning on and off operation of the driving of the feed chain. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
