<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus or the like capable of correctly specifying a drawing region by metallic ink. <P>SOLUTION: This image processing apparatus includes a characteristic part detection means 410 for detecting characteristic parts corresponding to parts brighter than a predetermined first threshold, or parts darker than a predetermined second threshold (however, the second threshold represents a lightness satisfying the second threshold ≤ the first threshold) from among image regions, a first region specifying means 420 which expands the characteristic parts by a predetermined parameter, and specifies as a first region a region surrounding overlapping characteristic parts, a second region specifying means 430 which specifies as a second region a region obtained by shrinking the first region by a rate corresponding to the predetermined parameter, and a drawing region specifying means 460 which specifies the second region as a drawing region. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
