<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve durability by reducing abrasion of a seal lip by stabilizing friction by reducing deformation of the seal lip by pressure by preventing the seal lip from flatly striking on a mating member even in high pressure in an oil seal having the seal lip for performing the seal action by being slidingly brought into close contact with the mating member. <P>SOLUTION: This oil seal is formed by arranging flat striking preventive ribs 4 and 5 on a sliding surface 3a of the seal lip 3. The ribs 4 and 5 are respectively arranged on a sealing object side inclined face 3c and an opposite side inclined face 3d of the seal lip 3, and are arranged at intervals C<SB>1</SB>and C<SB>2</SB>in the axial direction from the lip end 3b of the seal lip 3, and are formed in the shape of gradually expanding its height and a circumferential directional width for separating in the axial direction from the lip end 3b. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
