PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alternator for vehicles wherein the waterproofness and dustproofness of a rolling bearing can be enhanced. SOLUTION: The alternator includes: a rotor having a rotating shaft 14 whose supported portion is rotatably supported and a stepped portion 14a that is rotated integrally with the rotating shaft 14 and whose diameter is larger than that of the supported portion, and rotated on the center of the rotating shaft 14 with a pole core 13 fixed on the rotating shaft 14; a rolling bearing 16 disposed on the opposite side of the pole core 13 with the stepped portion 14a in-between and attached to the supported portion of the rotating shaft 14; a flat washer 162 disposed between the stepped portion 14a and the rolling bearing 16; and a wave washer 164 as a pressing member that is disposed between the stepped portion 14a and the rolling bearing 16 and presses the flat washer 162 against the inner ring 16a of the rolling bearing 16.
