PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a retractable writing utensil, in which a push-button action can be performed with favorable feeling due to the smooth revolution of a refill even under the condition that the refill and a retracting and extending mechanism are integrated. SOLUTION: In the retractable writing utensil, in which the pen body part at the tip of a refill sprung towards a tail end side by a coiled spring is extended and retracted through the tip opening of a barrel by means of the double push-button type retracting and extending mechanism using a rotor, the rotor is fastened to the tail end part of an ink cartridge and the end of a coiled element wire abutting against the forward-facing stepped part of a coiled spring lying between the forward-facing stepped part at the tip of the refill and a fore nozzle is bent towards the direction separating from the forward-facing stepped part. In addition, the bent base part, which is formed by bending the end of the coiled element wire of the coiled spring towards the direction separating from the forward-facing stepped part of the refill is brought into a point contact with the forward-facing stepped part.
