PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a current amount of a drive signal because it is necessary to constitute a circuit to drive without failure even by a large current amount, and is also necessary to limit parts and take countermeasures for generation of heat, etc., when a relationship between an amount of liquid ejected and a driving pulse selected is made common to each nozzle group and consequently the current amount of the drive signal of the side with the selected driving pulse becomes large if the liquid of an equal amount is ejected by a plurality of the nozzle groups. SOLUTION: The liquid ejector has a head, a drive signal generating part and a driving pulse applying part. The head has a plurality of the nozzle groups, and also has elements which perform the ejection action. The drive signal generating part generates the drive signal with a first driving pulse formed in a certain period of time for making the ejection action performed, and the other drive signal with a second driving pulse formed in the certain period of time for making the ejection action performed. The driving pulse applying part applies the first driving pulse to the element corresponding to a certain nozzle group, and applies the second driving pulse to the element corresponding to the other nozzle group when the liquid of a certain amount is ejected from the certain nozzle group and the other nozzle group.
