PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems wherein a photoreceptor having high mechanical strength, improved electrophotographic characteristics and improved image deletion characteristics even under a high-temperature and high-humidity condition is required. SOLUTION: A siloxane-containing material prepared by a sol-gel method and a polymer binder material form an interpenetrating network. A silicon-containing layer containing such the interpenetrating network is provided. The interpenetrating network and the method for preparing the silicon-containing layer including the interpenetrating network are also provided.
