PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibration control method for a small-scale building which enables constructing the small-scale building hard to collapse even if receiving large seismic vertical vibration by considering the difference of vertical loads applied to each support structural member. SOLUTION: A fixed reference exists in determining the natural frequency f<SB>n</SB>and damping ratioζof a column vibration system 7. Specifically, it is determined that the vertical displacement y of each column in the case of receiving seismic vertical vibration is damped from at least approximately 1/2 to approximately 1/3 of vertical displacement y of a foundation 2. After determining natural frequency f<SB>n</SB>and a damping ratioζcommon to all the column vibration systems 7 based on these references, vertical spring constants k and damping coefficients c of vibration insulating pads 6 in the respective vibration systems 7 are individually determined based on the natural frequency f<SB>n</SB>, the damping ratioζand the designed vertical load W of the respective columns 4.
