Step extension frame has a height adjustable suspended cap (1) supported by means of guide transmission (4) and hydraulic props (7) at floor skids (3). The connecting rods can be locked by means of a locking element. A fixed attachment element (20) is detachable at the rear arrangement (8) for the cross bar (11) or the drive trough (13) with a protective lead-through for spur lines. An independent claim is included for the attachment element for the rear arrangement of the step extension frame.
