<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sitting-up assisting tool capable of allowing a person lying supine to easily sit up even with small force. <P>SOLUTION: The sitting-up assisting tool 1 includes: a substantially string shape elastic member 2 having a lock part 21 to be locked at one end to a fixing part 10 which is arranged close to the mat of a bed; and three grips 31-33 which are arranged in the longitudinal direction of the elastic member 2 at the other end side of the elastic member 2 and are to be gripped by the lying person. When the user alternately grips the adjacent grips 31-33 by hands so as to pull them toward the side of the person and to haul the elastic member 2, repulsive force to work, which is small at first, becomes the large force at the end.
