PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve efficiency at a low load factor in a converter system which has such a constitution that a plurality of converter units are connected in parallel, and which outputs DC power having a DC voltage stably controlled, using the DC power as input. SOLUTION: Working mode switching circuits 7, which switch between two working modes of an operation working mode and a waiting working mode are provided at each of the converter units 21. Different startup voltages and target output voltages are set in each of the converter units 21. Operation mode switching control circuits 6 of each of the converter units 21 control the working mode switching circuits 7, so that the mode is changed into the operation working mode, when it is detected that an output voltage value of the converter system 20 is the startup voltage or smaller, while the mode may be changed into the waiting working mode when it is detected that an output current value detected by a current detecting circuit 5 is a shutdown current, set beforehand or smaller.
