PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for recording bursts on a novel and improved hard disk drive capable of improving servo control performance by ameliorating the asymmetry of the bursts and the distortion of the bursts, and to provide a device suitable to the same. SOLUTION: The method for recording the bursts includes a first recording current generation process of generating the first recording current corresponding to the burst data provided in a recording channel circuit 702, the recording channel circuit 702, a second recording current generation process of generating the second recording current of a frequency higher than the frequency of the first recording current in an independent high frequency AC current generation section 712, a process of applying the first recording current or the second recording current selectively to a recording head 710 in response to the signal representing a burst recording section and a blank section within a burst field. The method is characterized in that the blank section (or the peripheral part of the bursts) is erased by the high frequency AC current generated by the high frequency AC current generation section 712 independent from the recording channel circuit 702.
