PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oral care composition scavenging a free radical present on the surface of a tissue in the oral cavity, and reducing or eliminating the action of a reactive oxygen species on the tissue in the oral cavity. SOLUTION: The oral care composition comprises an orally acceptable carrier, and an ascorbyl-2-phosphate compound having a structure of the formula (wherein, n is 1-10) in the figure, or a sodium or potassium salt thereof.
