Short-time current application of an air-bag due to garbled bits of a safing ON/OFF command is prevented. An air-bag controller comprises a first electronic circuit (3) for generating an ignition command according to the output of a main acceleration sensor (1), a second electronic circuit (4) for generating a safing ON command for canceling the safing mode according to the output of a safing acceleration sensor (2), and an ignition circuit (8) for generating an air-bag development permission signal when both the ignition command and the safing ON command are received. The second electronic circuit (4) generates a safing OFF command different from the safing ON command and sets a safing mode according to the safing OFF command.
