A method 10 of communicating with a person traveling in a vehicle 12 is provided. The method 10 includes identifying a vehicle registration number 20 of the vehicle 12, accessing a database 28 in which communication numbers of communication devices of persons associated with vehicles are linked to vehicle registration numbers and retrieving a communication number of a communication device 26 of a person associated with the vehicle 12 from the database 28 using the vehicle registration number 20. The method further includes using the communication number retrieved from the database 28 to access the communication device 26 of the person traveling in the vehicle 12 thereby to communicate with the person traveling in the vehicle 12. The invention extends to a vehicle communication system and to a communication network. |
