The powder feed (10) has a rotary sieve drum (11) into which the powder is placed. The drum has a parallel offset brush within it, having radially extending bristles (14). The brush (14) rotates in the opposite direction to the drum to force the powder through the wall of the drum and out to a discharge trough (15). The rotational speeds of the drum and brush are controllable.
