<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device that can efficiently maintain apparent smoothness of luminance while reducing a material cost, because contribution of red or blue to the luminance is low compared to that of green. <P>SOLUTION: An error diffusing device used for a display device has functions of adding a reproduction error generated in the past from a target pixel to video signals so as to obtain diffused output signals and of obtaining smooth changes in the luminance of output video signals by using low-order bits of the diffusion output signals. In the device, the bit number of at least one delay means out of delay means to delay reproduction error signals of red or blue video signals is made smaller than the bit number of a delay means for green so as to reduce the material cost. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
