<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of driving a plasma display panel achieving high brightness and high contrast, the method which does not generate a wrong discharges in sustaining period due to strong discharge in reset period. <P>SOLUTION: The method of driving a plasma display panel, in which discharge cells are defined in regions where a plurality of electrodes cross, a unit frame used to express an image is divided into a plurality of sub fields, with each sub field being divided into a reset period, an address period and a sustaining period, is characterized in that in a reset period, reset falling pulses are applied to first electrodes among the plurality of electrodes; a bias voltage is applied to second electrodes, extended parallel to the first electrodes, from when the reset falling pulses have been applied; and the second electrodes are made to float or bias falling pulses are applied to the second electrodes during a predetermined period, from when the reset falling pulses are applied to when the reset period ends. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
