Producing a mold core for making hollow fiber-reinforced plastic structural parts by introducing an airtight plastic bag into a mold under vacuum or pressure, filling the bag with solid particles through its open top, evacuating the mold and sealing the top of the bag, comprises subjecting the particles in the bag to vibratory compaction before sealing the bag in such a way that formation of loose particles is prevented. An independent claim is also included for apparatus for carrying out the above process, comprising a vibrator on which the mold is mounted.
