The method involves loading space co-ordinates of a space point (12) in a register of a processor, and determining ordinal numbers from the co-ordinates by arithmetic operation of the processor. The calculated ordinal numbers are buffered in a linear storage area of a storage unit before further processing of the register, and the ordinal numbers are stored by individual storage command of the register for vector operations. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a device for analyzing data (2) a computer program product for analyzing data.
