PURPOSE:To surely and effectively conduct a washing by making a liquid remaining in a reaction pipe as small as possible by discharging the liquid as the reaction pipe is positioned with its tapered portion down and conducting a measurement as the reaction pipe is positioned with its flat portion down. CONSTITUTION:A reaction pipe (a) is formed in an approximately rectangular configuration and has tapered and flat portions B and (c) formed on one and the other ends, respectively. The reaction pipes are mounted to a disk-shaped rotor 1 along the lines radially extending from a rotating shaft 2. A stator 8 is provided with an introducing pipe 24 for introducing a second reagent and the pipe 24 can be connected to a communicating path 11 connected to the reaction pipes (a)...(p) of the rotor 1. A pipe 25 is connected to a channel system for a waste liquid. When the reaction pipe (a) is revolved and the flat portion (c) is positioned on a lower side, a measurement is conducted by project ing light and, when the reaction pipes are revolved through 180 deg. and the tapered portion B of the reaction pipe (a) is positioned on the lower side, a liquid is discharged and the reaction pipe (a) is washed.
