The invention relates to a device (D) for controlling indicators which represent the performances of a communication network (RC,RAR) and can be used by a management and/or optimisation tool (OO) of said network. The inventive device (D) comprises control means (MC) which, when they receive a formula defining an indicator and consisting of quantities selected from the variables and the parameters and combined by means of operators, are used i) to control the homogeneity of said formula in terms of units and/or semantics, by means of first data representing units of quantities that the formula combines and/or the semantics of at least some of the quantities, and ii) in the event of the detection of heterogeneity, to correct each heterogeneity, taking into account the first data, in order to supply a corrected formula which is homogeneous in terms of unities and/or semantics.
