<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vitrinite reflectance measuring method and a device capable of measuring a reflectance surely without destroying a coal-including rock sample, concerning a vitrinite particle included in the coal-including rock sample, even if it is a fine particle. <P>SOLUTION: In this vitrinite reflectance measuring method, the coal-including rock sample is polished to form an observation surface, and a square part carrying particle having a square shape partitioned by two projecting sides on the inside, exposed on the observation surface observed with a magnification of 200-1,000 times is discriminated as the vitrinite particle, and the reflectance on the surface domain is measured. In the vitrinite reflectance measuring device, which is used for the measuring method and equipped with a photodiode as a photometric means, the diameter of vertical illumination light can be adjusted below 75 μm, and the diameter of a photometric area can be adjusted below 10 μm. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
