<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect the magnetic pole position and the rotational position of a permanent-magnet motor, using a permanent-magnet resolver. <P>SOLUTION: The resolver (10) is constructed of a stator (11) in which a coil (13) is respectively wound on 8n salient poles (12) arranged on a circumference at equal intervals; and a rotor (14), in which permanent magnets (17) are placed on a circumference at equal intervals with the N pole and the S pole alternating, and the same number of magnetic poles as in the permanent-magnet motor are formed. Using this resolver, the magnetic pole position and the rotational position of the permanent-magnet motor (100) are detected based on the inductance of the coils (13): when the magnetic pole position of the permanent-magnet motor (100) is detected, the coils (13) are so excited that the periodic number of the inductance fundamental waves of the coils (13) at the rotation angle of the resolver (10) of 360° are equal to the number of magnetic pole pairs of the resolver (10); after the magnetic pole position has been detected, the coils (13) are so excited that the periodic number of the inductance fundamental waves of the coils (13) at the rotation angle of the resolver (10) of 360° is twice the number of the magnetic pole pairs. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
