PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To coincide an oscillation wavelength of a DFB laser even after a device is manufactured with a central wavelength of a transmission band of a semiconductor array waveguide lattice. SOLUTION: A variable-wavelength light source 100-1 is constituted by connecting a semiconductor array waveguide lattice 120-1 having a small light loss in the device with a DFB laser array 110. An electrode 106 is provided in the array waveguide 123 of the semiconductor array waveguide lattice 120-1, and a voltage is applied to the electrode 106 whereby an electric field can be applied to a core layer of the waveguide 123 to change a transmission refractive index. In this manner, the transmission refractive index is changed, whereby even after the variable-wavelength light source 100-1 is manufactured, the oscillation wavelength of the DFB laser can be made coincident with the central wavelength of the transmission band of the semiconductor array waveguide lattice 120-1.
