摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an efficient pulse multiplexing wavelength converting optical system by performing pulse multiplexing by utilizing light which is conventionally rejected on frequency conversion. SOLUTION: A third-harmonic emitted from a fifth harmonic generating optical element 3 and reflected by a dichroic mirror 6 and a part of a second harmonic generated from a second harmonic generating optical element 3 and divided by a half-mirror 4 have the same timing by an optical delay circuit 8 and are delayed by an optical delay circuit 9, are reflected by a mirror 10, thereafter, are reflected by a dichroic mirror 11 and have the same optical path with the fifth harmonic transmitted through the dichroic mirror 6. When the second harmonic and the third harmonic enter into a fifth harmonic generating optical element 12, a fifth harmonic is additionally generated. The optical delay circuit 9 is adjusted so that a pulse array of the fifth harmonic generated by the fifth harmonic generating optical element 12 may be positioned at the center of the pulse array of the fifth harmonic generated by the fifth harmonic generating optical element 5.
