PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized imaging apparatus for making an optical unit sink by a simple mechanism, and for housing a functional unit, when not it is not imaging. SOLUTION: For the imaging apparatus, when not picking up the images, the optical unit 70 having a bend part for bending an optical axis, an imaging lens and an imaging element is shortened, and the function unit such as a flash unit 13 is housed, in a space generated by shortening the optical unit.
