PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly control the roll status of a car body by maintaining the requested traveling status of a vehicle, and preventing torque to be output for control from running short in the case of controlling the roll status of the car body. SOLUTION: This controller for vehicle is provided with a driving and braking force calculation means for calculating driving torque and braking torque to be applied to a wheel; a driving and braking force output means for outputting the calculated driving torque and braking torque; a roll detection means for detecting the roll of the car body; and a roll control means for controlling the roll status by distributing and outputting the driving torque and the braking torque based on the roll status of the body. This controller includes driving and braking force control means (steps S5 to S12) for controlling the driving torque and braking torque so that torque to be applied to the wheel can be the maximum output torque of the driving and braking force output means or less when the control of the roll status is executed by the roll control means.
