PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a benzyloxypyrrolidine derivative simply, easily, and safely in a high yield. SOLUTION: The method for producing a benzyloxypyrrolidine derivative represented by general formula (III) is characterized in that a pyrrolidinol derivative represented by general formula (I) (wherein R<SP>1</SP>is a hydrogen atom or an alkyl or aryl group; R<SP>2</SP>is a hydrogen atom or an alkoxy, alkenyloxy, aralkyloxy, alkyl, or aryl group; and the hydroxy group may be at either of the second and third positions) is reacted with a benzyl halide derivative represented by general formula (II) (wherein R<SP>3</SP>is a hydrogen atom or an alkyl, alkoxy, or alkenyl group; and X is a halogen atom) in the coexistence of an alkali metal hydroxide and a phase transfer catalyst in a mixture of water and an organic solvent nonreactive with the pyrrolidinol derivative.
