SUGAR AMIDE AND ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stable sugar amide which is more hardly susceptible to hydrolysis than a sugar fatty acid ester and its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The sugar amide is represented by formula (1) (wherein T is a sugar part of uronic acid having one or a plurality of carboxy groups in the molecule; A is COOH or the like; and R is an alkyl group or the like). The method for manufacturing the sugar amide represented by formula (1) comprises subjecting a uronic acid and an alkylamine to dehydration condensation. The above sugar amide includes, for example, a compound of formula (2). The sugar amide has excellent moisture retention and water retention characteristics and is effective for addition to a perfuming cosmetic as a surface active agent having low skin irritation.
