PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To securely control opening operation of a car door by a simple configuration when a stop position of a car is a position having such height that causes hindrance if manual opening operation of the car door is permitted. SOLUTION: This elevator device is provided with the elevator car 4 elevating and lowering in a shaft 2, the car door 5 capable of being opened from an inner side of the stopped car 4 by manual operation, and a pair of stopper members 11, 12 abutted on each other to control opening operation of the car door 5 when the stop position of the car 4 is the position having such height that causes hindrance if manual opening operation of the car door 5 is permitted. The pair of stopper members 11, 12 are provided in at least either of a section between an outer door 6 having a lock device on a getting-on-and-off floor 3 and the car door 5 and a section between a wall face W of the shaft 2 and the car door 5.
