<p>The method involves extracting given information using an information extraction tool according to specified rules for recognition of the information from a document. Information accepted as correct and to be used uniformly is searched by the given information in a reference database using the rules for recognition of comparable information, and the given information is replaced by the information accepted as correct. An independent claim is also included for a device for verifying a document.</p>
