<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a print system for printing print data generated by host equipment in a printer connected through a network, which particularly has function restriction information, in which function restriction of printing can be performed only by setting or changing the information by a manager as occasion demands to reduce the cost or ensure the security. <P>SOLUTION: Function restriction information for print processing is stored in a nonvolatile memory 22 and, for example, function restriction information B for print data supplied from host equipment, function restriction information A for print data capable of specifying a user, and function restriction information C for specifying function restriction information in an emergency are registered so as to function in response to the host equipment, the user or the print processing in an emergency.
