PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the impairing of heat exchanging efficiency by preventing the discharging of a latent heat storage material to the outside of a container. SOLUTION: In this latent heat storage device 10 wherein a heat medium 13 is circulated between waste heat generation facilities or heat demand facilities and a container 11 filled with the latent heat storage material 12, heat exchange is performed by the direct contact of the heat medium 13 and the latent heat storage material 12 in the container 11, and heat is movable between the waste heat generation facilities or the heat demand facilities and the container 11, the specific gravity of the latent heat storage material 12 is higher than that of the heat medium 13, so that two layers are formed in the container 11. Here, a square body 15 having a through hole 15a at its bottom face is disposed on a suction opening of a discharge portion 14b in a state that the peripheral wall of the square body 15 forms a weir, and a mixture of the latent heat storage material 12 and the heat medium 13 flowing in the square body 15 over a weir are separated into two layers by a difference in specific gravities in the square body 15. The latent heat storage material 12 of higher specific gravity gravitates, flows out to the outside of the square body 15 through the through hole 15a of the bottom face of the square body 15, is returned to the latent heat storage material 12 layer, and thus the latent heat storage material 12 is prevented from being discharged to the outside of the container 11.
