PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for manufacturing an oxide superconductive bulky body the crystal of whose precursor can be grown in a short time and whose trapped magnetic field characteristics are excellent. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the oxide superconductive bulky body comprises a step of crystallizing a precursor of a half-melted state on the basis of a crystal structure of a seed crystal. The precursor of a temperature range lower than the peritectic temperature and lower than the crystallization starting temperature is subjected to such preliminary stepwise-cooling isothermal treatment that the temperature of the precursor is lowered gradually at two or more steps while being kept constant at each of two or more steps. The resulting precursor is heated to the temperature equal to or higher than the peritectic temperature. The heated precursor is subjected to such main stepwise-cooling isothermal treatment so as to grow the crystal of the precursor that the temperature of the heated precursor is lowered gradually at two or more steps while being kept constant at each of two or more steps.
