<p>The present invention relates to a composition comprising a peptide of the formula: (Xaa)<SUB>n1</SUB>-Xaa<SUB>1</SUB>-His-Thr-Asp-(Xaa)<SUB>n2</SUB> wherein Xaa is any amino acid; Xaa<SUB>1 </SUB>is a hydrophobic amino acid; n<SUB>1</SUB> is 0-10; and n<SUB>2</SUB> is 0-10; and derivatives thereof; and insulin. Complexes of insulin and the peptides, methods of dispersing multimeric insulin complexes and methods of regulating in vivo blood glucose levels, particularly in the treatment of diabetes are also described.</p>
