HYBRID PROMOTER COMPOSED OF MUSCLE-TROPIC PROMOTER AND SV40 VIRUS PROMOTER AND VECTOR CARRYING THE HYBRID PROMOTER

Disclosed is a novel promoter which, when the promoter and a transgene located downstream to the promoter are introduced into a muscle of an animal, can retain the activity of a product of the transgene in the animal for a longer period after the introduction of the transgene compared to the case where a non-tissue-specific promoter or a muscle-specific promoter is used. The promoter is: a hybrid promoter composed of a muscle-tropic promoter and SV40 promoter linked to each other; or a hybrid promoter composed of a muscle-tropic promoter and a promoter derived from SV40 promoter linked to each other, wherein the promoter derived from SV40 promoter has deletion, substitution and/or insertion in a part of SV40 promoter. The hybrid promoter can exert a higher transcription activity than that of the muscle-tropic promoter in a muscle cell.
