Teaching aid for alphanumeric character recognition

A teaching aid comprises a body presenting an alphanumeric character and an indicium or indicia associated with each orientation of the alphanumeric character. The body is moveable about a hinging mechanism from a first orientation in which the alphanumeric character is correctly readable to at least one further orientation. The further orientation presents either a correctly or incorrectly readable orientation of the alphanumeric character. The indicium or indicia comprise a word or a graphical image (or both) indicating the correctness or incorrectness of the orientation chosen.
