<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio set with multiple handsets which is superior in handleability and has high reliability, and to provide a handset control method for the radio device having multiple handsets. <P>SOLUTION: The radio device includes a transmission means, a receiving means, multiple handsets 205-1, 205-2 to 205-P, and a controller for controlling the transmission means, the receiving means, and the multiple handsets. The controller includes a key selector 111 and a voice selector 114, and the key selector has a handset-identifying part 113 for identifying key data from the handsets.
