PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a document sorting method for reducing any influence due to the variations of the notation of a document. SOLUTION: Similarity based on a common keyword between two documents among documents to be sorted and similarity based on a common cited document are calculated. The mean value of those similarity is defined as document similarity between the two documents. An stable inter-document distance is calculated based on the document similarity for each of those two documents. The documents to be sorted are arranged in a coordinate system, and each document is moved so that each of the two documents has the stable inter-document distance, thereby enabing the strongly relevant documents to be gathered.
