PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrogen sensor which is highly safe and has a high corrosion resistance against liquid sodium. SOLUTION: The hydrogen sensor for sensing the hydrogen concentration of a liquid comprises a bottomed hydrogen concentration meter suspended in the liquid sodium (Na) within a liquid sodium flowing pipe, a lid for closing the top of the hydrogen concentration meter, a hydrogen gas supply pipe for supplying a reference hydrogen gas (H<SB>2</SB>) to the bottom side of the meter and a hydrogen gas discharge pipe for discharging the reference hydrogen gas (H<SB>2</SB>), both of which pipes penetrate the lid, electrodes individually attached on the inside and outside of the bottom of the hydrogen concentration meter, a voltmeter for measuring the electromotive force between the electrode on the inside and the electrode in the outside and an open-bottom protective tube suspended from tube plates sandwiching the lid into the liquid sodium (Na) and surrounding the hydrogen concentration meter.
