PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently and evenly exfoliate coating applied to hanger ropes. SOLUTION: This washing device has a device body 10 mounted on the rope 1, and the body 10 is moved along the rope 1 and a washing solution is sprayed onto the rope 1 to wash the rope 1. The device body 10 is provided with multiple spraying devices 20 to surround the rope 1. Each spraying device 20 has a face 22a facing the rope 1, and a rotary head 22 rotated by high pressure air around a pivot 21a roughly orthogonal to the rope 1. The face 22a of the head 22 is provided with multiple washing nozzles spraying the washing solution to the rope 1.
