PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dye remover for hair removing dye from hair dyed by mainly using an acidic dye without decolorizing melanin dye from hair, free from imparting damage on the hair, effectively removing the acidic dye and free from impairing feeling of the hair after removal. SOLUTION: The invention relates to the dye remover for hair comprising (a) 0.5-50 mass% of one or more kinds selected from urea, thiourea and hydroxyethyl urea, (b) 2-30 mass% of an aromatic alcohol (benzyl alcohol, phenoxyethanol, etc.), (c) 1-5 mass% of a sulfite and/or a pyrosulfite, (d) less than 45 mass% of water, and the remover has 6.5-9.5 of pH.
