PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dishwasher allowing a user to easily set cutlery in a cutlery compartment. SOLUTION: The dishwasher comprises a lower basket 15 for storing the tableware 10, a washing tub 1 for washing the tableware 10 stored in the lower basket 15, and the cutlery compartment tiltably journaled to the lower basket 15. When the user sets the cutlery 11 in the cutlery compartment 16, the user can easily see the inside of the cutlery compartment 16 by tilting the cutlery compartment, so that setting of the cutlery 11 is facilitated. If the center of tilting of the cutlery compartment 16 is located in the lower front of the cutlery compartment 16, the position of the cutlery compartment 16 is high when the cutlery compartment 16 is tilted forward to additionally set the cutlery 11 after the tableware 10 is set in the lower basket 15, so that the user can easily set the cutlery 11 without being interfered by the tableware 10 in the periphery.
