Continuous flow reactor, particularly for biological systems e.g. effluent water sterilization, comprises a vertical axial vessel (10) with bottom inlets for feed liquid (12) and treatment gas or liquids (18, 20), upper outlets (14,16) and stirrer (30). Between the agitator impeller and bottom inlets in the vessel, a spaced-apart stack of perforated, staggered quarter baffle plates is installed.
