<p>A mixture comprises material locally-excavated from the ground, together with a dry, expansive clay. The latter is especially a bentonite or mixture of bentonites. The clay has uniform granular size, or comprises a mixture of grain sizes. It is a mixture of clays with particles of differing activation energy. It is a mixture of clays having differing lattice structures and/or variously-spaced structural layers. A conditioner is included in the mixture, comprising a mineral or plant material. Kinetic mixing energy is supplied to the dry mixture. It becomes partially-comminuted and mechanically-processed, such that inter-particle friction causes activation. An independent claim is included for the production of the mixture.</p> |
