<p>Textile machine comprising a series of spindles (2) with overlying balloon restrictors (3) comprises spindle drive motors (6) and balloon restrictor drive motors (7) each connected to a common frequency converter (4, 5) so that their speed can be automatically controlled independently of each other as a function of torque. Independent claims are also included for: (1) a funnel spinning process in which a yarn package is formed on a rotating spindle and yarn is delivered to the spindle by means of a rotating guide, where the spindle and guide are driven to provide a controlled relative motion so that the package is not completely cylindrical, comprising altering the spindle speed as a function of the relative motion during a predetermined section of package buildup; (2) a spinning or twisting machine comprising a series of spindles with overlying balloon restrictors, each individually motor-driven, and a programmable control unit capable of generating control signals for the drive motors, where the control signals permit load-dependent deviations of the spindle speed from a predetermined speed and/or initiate predetermined deviations from a target spindle speed.</p> |
